Remnants of the Lincoln Highway in Wooster, Ohio

Construction began in 1913 on a transcontinental road dedicated to President Abraham Lincoln. Starting in Times Square and stretching all the way to San Francisco, much of its 3,000 miles eventually became part of U.S. Route 30.
